Gillingham Manager Mark Stimson has decided not to pursue his interest in trialists Drewe Broughton and Moses Swaibu. The pair joined up with the squad for pre-season training but failed to make an impression on the Gills gaffer.

Bustling Striker Drewe Broughton was considered surplus to requirements following the capture of Mark McCammon whilst Stimson feels he has enough options in defence not to warrant further interest in young Centre-Half Moses Swaibu.

Stimson revealed there will be another new face in the squad on their return from La Manga, 30 year-old former Southend, Brentford and Oxford United central defender Leo Roget is training with Danny Ellis this week and is likely to figure in the Gills first three pre-season friendlies.

Roget has been out of the game since leaving Oxford United in the summer of 2006 but impressed Mark Stimson with his form in training last week.
